“Go ye” means “Go me!”

As I was reading the parable of the talent I was struck by the part where the man who received the one talent said to the master,

“you take up what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.”

Then the master confirmed this to be true about himself. He then went on to say,

“you should have put my money in the bank that at my coming I might have received my own with interest.”

Now this is pointed at those who know Christ and yet they simply don’t care if the Gospel gets around or loses ground, they just want to live at ease and enjoy his blessings. As the old saying goes, Nero fiddled while Rome burned. They set and watch the world crumble around them while their brothers and sisters in other lands are suffering and dying for their faith; they remain in their selfish world with their talent buried.

Don’t worry, be happy, before we suffer God will rapture us. What does it mean the master reaps where he did not sow? It simply means take up your cross, get out of your chair, lift up your eyes unto the harvest, and plant that which the master has given us. Yes, there is more we can do. God has put us under an obligation to take our time and talents and bring forth a fruit which he will return to reap.

“Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel.”

“Go ye” means “Go me!”
