This morning, I was reading 2 Chronicles 32:8 and I was impacted in what I saw for the first time. I have read this chapter so many times and every time I do, I am filled with faith in who God is with me in my challenges and problems and how mighty He shows Himself to be. I love where it says,
“With Him is the arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to Help us and to fight our battles.”
As I read it this time, I saw something new. My perspective of my relationship with God changed today. I have always had faith and believed God Helps me in everything I do and face in life, but today I saw something. This verse does not say God will be with me in all my battles. This verse does not say He will strengthen me to endure in the fight. This verse says He will do it for me. Yes, He will take it out of my hands and He will fight my battles for me. I read it again,
“it says He fights our battles.”
It is not me, it’s all Him! I began to sing the old chorus with new understanding.
“With Heavenly armor we’ll enter the land
the battle belongs to the Lord.”
Oh, Glory to our God! And now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen!
